The autonomous community organizations of the Pontiac will be picketing in Campbell’s Bay next week

The organismes communautaires autonomes de l’Outaouais, or the autonomous community organizations in the Outaouais, which has many members in the Pontiac, is preparing to take action with a number of protests across the region between February 21-24, the outaouais region is merely one among many across Québec.

In the Outaouais, a march and six picketing protests will be held in a number of different areas, including Campbell’s Bay. The Director General of the Table régionale des organismes communautaires de l’Outaouais (TROCAO), Daniel Cayley-Daoust criticized the Legault government’s inaction, breaking its promises to Outaouais organizations.

“Community organizations in the region feel completely abandoned and betrayed by the Legault government. His government had promised funding and an action plan in the last provincial budget, but we got none of that,” Cayley-Daoust says. On Monday, February 21, 2022, Pontiac organizations will participate in a march that will take place in downtown Gatineau, in which the departure is scheduled for 10 a.m. at the Robert Guertin Arena. On Tuesday, February 22, 2022, a picketing protest will take place on the 148, near the MRC offices in Campbell’s Bay from 11 a.m. to 12:15 p.m.

“Organizations are at breaking point,” he says. “We are witnessing a shortage of personnel, an increase in needs and several other impacts of underfunding that are unprecedented. Several organizations are now in jeopardy because of this inaction and it is Mr. Legault and his government who are responsible for it. »
