Pontiac Chamber of Commerce seeking Executive Director

In December, MRC Pontiac announced a $70,000 grant for the Pontiac Chamber of Commerce to hire an Executive Director.

“The Pontiac Chamber of Commerce is in the process of realigning its organization to meet the needs of local business following the impacts of COVID-19 on the local economy. Their main goals are to increase sales for local businesses with a buy local campaign and add value to their membership in hope of attracting new businesses to the Chamber,” the summary of the job ad reads.

The salary for the position would be $60,000 (depending on experience) at 35 hours a week for a one year contract with the possibility of renewal. Candidates should have post-secondary education in business administration, communications, marketing, economic development or a related field, as well as three years of management experience and knowledge of the Pontiac region. Bilingualism, both oral and written, is mandatory.

“The Executive Director is the voice of the Pontiac Chamber of Commerce on Board-approved public and community policy matters. The Executive Director is highly visible in the community and always promotes a professional image of the Chamber and its members. The nature of this role requires a flexible work schedule with occasional evening and weekend work,” the posting reads.
