Jane Toller officially sworn in as Warden

An official swearing-in ceremony was held in the Elsie Gibbons room at the MRC office in Campbell’s Bay on November 15.

She spoke about her priorities for the next four years, which generally involved continuing files Toller had championed in her previous term, such as building an energy from waste facility, the re-opening of various forestry sites in the Pontiac and the Pontiac pool project, which she had championed prior to her run for office in 2017.

She made a point of congratulating her opponent, Mike McCrank and said that she hoped he stayed involved in local issues.

She thanked her supporter for their confidence in her and singled out her former deputy warden and outgoing Otter Lake Mayor Kim Cartier-Villeneuve for recognition.

“It’s emotional for me to even speak your name today and call you pro-warden,” she said. “How I will miss you.”
