Many activities in Pontiac during Journées de la Culture au Québec
The Journées de la Culture au Québec will take place from Friday September 24 to Sunday September 26, with several free activities taking place in various locations throughout the Pontiac.
“I am absolutely delighted to see some cultural activities coming back to the Pontiac this year. Throughout this pandemic, the postponement of many of our usual summer activities has been a great disappointment for many. I strongly encourage everyone to take advantage of these free events and to support the wonderful artists and venues of the Pontiac,” said MRC Pontiac Warden Jane Toller (translated).
Hydro-Québec has joined forces with Culture pour Tous in order to financially support the production of cultural and artistic activities in certain municipalities with fewer than 3,000 residents. Once again this year, the MRC Pontiac was chosen to benefit from this program. Hydro-Québec community relations agent Alain Paquette said that the activities would be great news for the Pontiac.
Here are the activities listed by the MRC Pontiac and which will take place on the territory during the Journées de la culture:
• Friday September 24 at 7 p.m. – Little Red Wagon Winery, Clarendon – classical music concert by pianist Carson Becke.
• Friday September 24 from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m., Saturday September 25 from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. and 7 p.m. to 10 p.m., Sunday September 26 from 1 p.m. to 3:30 p.m. – Brauwerk Hoffman, Campbell’s Bay – Concerts of francophone, bilingual, traditional and contemporary music by local artists, in celebration of Oktoberfest.
• Sunday September 26 at 1 p.m. – Le Patro, Mansfield-et-Pontefract – concert of original francophone music by local artist Maxime de Wilde and musicians Dustin Rivet, William Rivet and Louis Lafontaine.
• Sunday September 26 at 6 p.m. – Esprit Rafting, Davidson – Concert of pop-latino Quebec music by Mamselle Ruiz.
Initiated and orchestrated by Culture pour Tous, the Journées de la Culture are three days of free activities open to all that promote greater public access to the arts and culture. As decreed by the National Assembly, the event takes place each year on the last Friday of September and the two following days.
