Owners Laurie Lacroix and Jeff Chugg are from Bryson and originally purchased the building to house Chugg’s insulation and construction businesses. When the found out the owners of the original store at the other end of the mall were considering retirement, they converted the space into a new store.

“Where we live in Bryson, we were limited to access for new employees, so we bought this building five years ago, and started renovating and ran Inso-Tec and Chugg Construction out of here,” Lacroix explained. “Going over to the store next door where Don and Elaine had it at the mall, that’s how he found out they were looking to retire and wanted to sell.”

Two years ago, they began the extensive renovations, changing the flooring, building counters, and dropping the ceiling.

“It’s been a long, long road but I’m glad we’re here,” Lacroix said.

The store offers a wide variety of merchandise, from baked goods to an SAQ outlet and a Purolator drop-off.

The grand opening included free hotdogs and all kinds of door prizes. The ribbon cutting was attended by Municipality of Pontiac Mayor Joanne Labadie and councillor Scott McDonald.
