Loisir Sport Outaouais (LSO) held its annual general meeting (AGM) last Thursday (June 17). During the evening, the organization revealed that it had awarded $ 554,702.85 in grants to various organizations in the region and had offered a total of 919 services.

“The pandemic situation that we have experienced during the year has resulted in the importance of the provision of leisure being emphasized. This awareness was demonstrated both among the population and among our various members of the municipal, school and community sectors who took the opportunity to rethink their offer and programming. Our various areas of expertise in physical activity, cultural leisure, leisure and sport for people with disabilities, parks and recreational spaces, support for volunteering, municipal, community and school leisure, day camps, outdoor activities and sport, have never been so much in demand ” , expressed Frédérique Delisle, CEO of LSO.

The Loisir sport Outaouais AGM allowed the election of 4 directors, for a period of 2 years. Gabrielle Lacasse and Daniel Feeny were elected as new directors. Jean-Yves Lord and Jean-Paul Caron were elected for a new term. These join the other members of the board of directors already in office, namely Nathalie A. Charrette, Camille Rouleau, Éric Antoine, Raymond Côté and Michel Parenteau.

In addition, we close our results with a financial surplus which will serve to support the revival of leisure and sport in the region during the coming year.

It should be noted that in LSO’s annual report, the involvement of the general manager of the Pontiac Youth Centers, Stéphane Durocher, was again underlined. “Stéphane Durocher has distinguished himself by having a significant impact in the field of sports and recreation in the Pontiac”, we can read in the 2020-2021 report of Loisir sport Outaouais.
