The Ministry of the Environment and the Fight against Climate Change has announced that James Bowers, the owner of Motel J&A Bowers, has been convicted of violating the Environment Quality Act. The latter will have to pay more than $ 11,478.

According to the Ministry of the Environment, as an associate of the company, James Bowers has rejected or allowed the release of a contaminant, total and thermotolerant coliforms, Escherichia coli (wastewater), whose presence in the the environment is likely to endanger human life, health, safety, well-being or comfort, cause damage or otherwise adversely affect the quality of the environment, ecosystems, living species or property, thus contravening section 20 of the Environment Quality Act.

James Bowers was ordered to pay a fine of $ 10,000 and must also reimburse the prosecution costs incurred by the Ministry, amounting to $ 1,478.
