Ms. Kinnear has held the position of Senior Director, Marketing and Strategic Partnerships at Tourisme Outaouais since June 2019. In her role, she has participated in various committees with valuable partners, both at the provincial and regional levels, in addition to pilot several strategies to make the Outaouais a popular destination for visitors. She has over 20 years of management experience in key marketing and corporate communications positions within national retail companies, among others.

“Ms. Kinnear was chosen unanimously. Her management experience, her personality and her sense of commitment make her a prime candidate. The hiring of Ms. Kinnear represents continuity for the organization. She knows the tourism industry, members and employees, and has been at the forefront of decisions made since the start of the pandemic. Thanks to her experience, she will bring out the best in the team and will undoubtedly contribute to the post-pandemic recovery, “said Geneviève Dumas, Chairman of the Board of Directors of Tourisme Outaouais.

Ms. Kinnear will take office on March 15 to enable a handover with current CEO France Bélisle, who will step down on April 2.

“It is with great pleasure and enthusiasm that I begin my tenure as CEO in an organization that is close to my heart. I am committed to supporting businesses in the region and making a significant contribution to a rapid recovery of the tourism industry. I would also like to thank the selection committee, the current CEO of Tourisme Outaouais and my team for the vote of confidence and the support they are offering me. Positioning the Outaouais as the gateway to Quebec and making it a destination of choice for visitors is a daily motivation, ”explained Julie Kinnear.

The Tourisme Outaouais team would like to thank France Bélisle for her many years at the head of the organization. France Bélisle has already announced that she will run for the mayor of Gatineau.
