The SQ makes an arrest in connection with the accident which claimed the life of Sylvain Bégin
An arrest took place last Wednesday (December 16) in connection with the accident which caused the death of Sylvain Bégin on September 19, 2020. The Sûreté du Québec arrested a 22-year-old woman from Barry’s Bay, Ontario, for drug-impaired driving causing death. Sergeant Louis-Philippe Bibeau confirmed the information obtained by CHIP 101.9.
CHIP 101.9 obtained the identity of the accused, Emily Rumleskie. She was released on a promise to appear and under certain conditions. She will have to return to court on April 13. The death of Sylvain Bégin had provoked several reactions, Sylvain was involved in several organizations and causes, such as the Pontiac Angel Tree, Canada Day in Mansfield and the Mansfield Fire Department. He was also recognized for his work as director general at the municipality of Rapides-des-Joachims and recently in Île-du-Grand-Calumet.
