L’Île-du-Grand-Calumet hires an interim director

15 December 2020 à 12:00 am

The municipality of Île-du-Grand-Calumet will finally be able to count on a resource to occupy the general management functions since the death of Sylvain Bégin last September. The municipality was able to hire Mario Boyer as interim director general. Mr. Boyer has several years of experience in the municipal sector and has held the position of general manager for the municipality of Thurso, located in the MRC de Papineau.

The municipal council also announced last night, during the public meeting, the hiring of a consultant, Lynn Kearney, whose mandate will be to help the municipality in the recruitment of a permanent general management. Ms. Kearney served as Director General of the Vallée-de-la-Gatineau MRC until last September. The council also announced the hiring of Louise Grenier to ensure a presence at the municipal office in the coming weeks. Since 2016, six different Director Generals have followed one another within this municipality (Jacques Mantha, Lisa Dagenais, Lisa Boisvert, Paul Langlois, Sabrina Larivière and Sylvain Bégin). Everything seems to indicate that Mr. Boyer should be a transition director and that the board will initiate a hiring process shortly.
