In the February 11th, 2020 edition of the Journal Le Droit, we can learn that the Ricard family, from L’Île-du-Grand-Calumet is suing the Centre intégré de santé et de services sociaux de l’Outaouais.

Following the death of Philippe Ricard, 73 years old, during an artery operation on January 24th, 2017, his son Marcel believes that the death could have easily been avoided and that compulsory blood tests should have been carried out before proceeding with the operation.

According to the Louis-Denis Ébacher article in the Journal Le Droit, Marcel Ricard is claiming $ 100,000 in non-pecuniary damages, $ 100,000 in punitive damages and $ 5,000 in miscellaneous costs. The link to the article is available here.
