First Mayors Meeting in 2020

The Regional Council of Mayors of the MRC Pontiac met for the first time in 2020, Wednesday, in Campbell’s Bay. Among the files of importance was the Mayors notable support for the Festi-Pont project, planned for 2021 on the occasion of the reopening of the Félix-Gabriel-Marchand bridge (Red bridge), an event which will be organized by Phare Ouest at the request of the municipality of Mansfield.

The Warden of the Pontiac MRC, Jane Toller declared that this event will be ideal to underline the importance of this historic structure, as well as the achievements of the former Québec Premier (from 1897 and 1900), Mr. Félix-Gabriel Marchand.

During Wednesday’s meeting, CHIP 101.9 was able to talk to the MRC Pontiac’s new strategic communications advisor, Colleen Jones.

In the coming months, Toller will undertake a tour of the different municipalities of the MRC Pontiac and attend various monthly municipal council. Her first stop was in l’Ile-du-Grand-Calumet on Monday.
