The municipalities of L’Isle-aux-Allumettes, Chichester and Sheenboro has reached 87 power outages to date for 2019. From talking to residents to local businesses, the CHIP 101.9 newsroom has followed this situation closely since the month of July. Yesterday, CHIP spoke to the mayor of the municipality of L’Isle-aux-Allumettes, Winston Sunstrum, who talked about how the municipality is moving forward on solving this issue.

Mayor Sunstrum also elaborated on the difficulty of mobilizing the population to act regarding the amount of power outages in the Upper Pontiac:

According to Winston Sunstrum, he has sent emails to Hydro-Québec on this matter with limited responses, or responses saying they are working on solving the issue.
