Student safety guides any decision related to school transportation during unfavourable weather conditions or special situations:
The school board considers that the safety of students during extreme weather conditions is a shared responsibility that involves the school board, the bus drivers and the parents. Despite the School Board’s decision to discontinue transportation, in whole or in part, in such circumstances, parents remain primarily responsible for their children and, as such, may decide to keep them at home.

New:
When transportation is suspended, primary and secondary schools, adult general education and vocational training will remain open. A message will be broadcast on the two official sources of information by the School Board – the home page of the School Board’s website and the School Board’s Facebook page.

Following, when the school board informs the population that the transportation has been cancelled, the courses are maintained for all students. In addition, child care is open.

Parent and guardian collaboration is required to transport the students. If it is not possible for the student to go to school, the parent must justify the absence by telephoning the school secretariat.

For detailed information, consult the procedure for interruption and special situations of school transportation – TS-01.01 on the website of the Commission scolaire des Haut-Bois-de-l’Outaouais.
