The Quebec Ministry of Transportation will provide financial assistance totalling $ 488,631 to nine snowmobile and Quad clubs in the Outaouais region to help maintain their trails and to keep them safe. This is an annual grant provided by an Off-Road Vehicle Club (OHV) Financial Assistance Program.

In the Pontiac, three associations will receive government funds:
L’association des motoneigistes du Pontiac: $ 23,981
The Club moto-neige pingouins : 103 204$
Club Quad du Pontiac : 45 819$

According to the spokesperson of l’association des motoneigistes de Pontiac, Alain Goulet, the amount received will be used to cover the costs of maintaining trails and machinery used to maintain their trails. “With a year with a lot of snow like this one, it costs more fuel because we did more maintenance on the trails,” he said. He added that the trails are still “very nice” and hopes that the snow accumulations will allow clubs to keep their trails open for a few more weekends.
