The municipality of Mansfield expects better visibility for Davidson’s industrial site

Monday night, Mansfield municipal Council met with Warden Jane Toller to discuss about the meeting she had on Tuesday with the Minister of Forests, Wildlife and Parks, Pierre Dufour, of the Coalition avenir Québec. During the conference call, the mayor of Mansfield-et-Pontefract, Gilles Dionne, said he would like this meeting to be used to increase awareness of Davidson’s project, which suffered from an overall lack of information surrounding it. It should be noted that Mansfield still has the rights to the Davidson sawmill lands and could use its rights to sell the whole in order to recover unpaid taxes. However, until now, the municipality has explained that no business has come up with a business plan, aside from Bruno Saint-Cyr’s plan with a cogeneration plant.
