Fort-Coulonge International Women’s Film Festival achieves funding goals

31 May 2018 à 12:00 am

Mission accomplished for the Fort-Coulonge International Women’s Film Festival, which achieved its goal of raising $ 4,000 as part of its crowd funding program launched a few weeks ago.

This Film Festival is an event dedicated exclusively to women directors from near and far. Suzanne Vallières-Nollet is grateful for the generosity of donors.

A total of 86 contributions helped the organization raise $ 4,120. The money raised will be used to ensure free activities throughout the Festival, which will be held from August 9 to 12, 2018.

During the last week of the campaign, the Festival organizers unveiled two film titles, the first international film entitled “Burkinabe Rising” directed by Iara Lee, and “Yolanda”, directed by Jeannine Gagné. The description of the feature films is available via the Festival’s Facebook page.

A pre-opening activity will be held on August 9 to celebrate the start of the harvest season. Suzanne Vallières-Nollet explains.

This is an event for Pontiac residents who want to share of recipes and culinary heritage in an intergenerational setting. It will take place from 10am to 4pm on August 9 at the Fort-Coulonge Golden Age Club. For more information or to register for this activity, contact the organization at culturephareouest@gmail.com
