According to information gathered by CHIP 101.9, candidates of the November 5th municipal elections on Allumettes Island have been the targets of threats recently. The threats made by telephone were received shortly before the end of the submission of applications to be candidates from 2 to 6 of October.
Potential candidates received telephone messages advising them to withdraw their applications and that repercussions could arise if they did not.
According to the details obtained, at least two candidates have been the target of such threats. We do not know the motives behind the threats or the names of the affected candidates who did not want to reveal their identity at the moment.
