Bernard Roy appointed DG of the Pontiac MRC
This will be a year of changes for the MRC Pontiac since the Council of Mayors has also announced the appointment of Bernard Roy as Director General. He had been a deputy director since his hiring in May 2016. At that time, the MRC had publicly mentioned that Bernard Roy was the candidate to assume the position of Director General. Warden Raymond Durocher said that Bernard Roy, “is a proven candidate who has chosen our region and will meet the needs of the MRC for the years to come.”
Gabriel Lance, who assumed the duties of acting director general, will reduce his work schedule in preparation for his retirement. In the press release, Gabriel Lance said his retirement “is not for happening overnight, but that by taking his former position of deputy director and decreasing his workload, he is taking the first steps towards his retirement.” The Council of Mayors thanked Mr. Lance for his excellent work.
With respect to Mr. Roy’s appointment, Mr. Durocher acknowledged that the board has full confidence in his fulfilling the roll of DG succession. Mr. Roy will officially take office on July 1, 2017.
