A 30-year-old man from Gatineau was caught driving nearly twice the speed limit in Thorne on October 22nd.

According to the Sûreté du Québec (SQ), officers from the Pontiac MRC detachment stopped the driver around 12:15 p.m. on Highway 303, after clocking his vehicle at 99 km/h in a posted 50 km/h zone.

The driver was issued an $810 ticket and received 10 demerit points.
