Public libraries invite you to discover their wealth for a 28th edition
The 28th edition of Quebec Public Library Week takes place from October 17th to 24th, under the theme “Ma biblio: de tout, partout, pour tout le monde”.
The event invites the public to discover the many services offered in the province’s 1,034 public libraries, far beyond book loans.
Storytelling hours, lending of musical instruments and gardening tools, exhibitions, digital workshops and online resources are among the services available to the public.
According to data presented by the Association des bibliothèques publiques du Québec, nearly three million Quebecers have a public library subscription, representing about 34% of the population.
This thematic week aims to remind us that libraries are places open to everyone, free of charge and without judgment. They promote learning, discovery, meeting and access to reliable information.
The Week is organized by the Association des bibliothèques publiques du Québec, in collaboration with Bibliopresto, Bibliothèque et Archives nationales du Québec and the Réseau BIBLIO du Québec.
