The Government of Canada is providing $800,000 in financial support to two Outaouais businesses to help them grow and expand through artificial intelligence (AI).

The repayable contributions from Canada Economic Development for Quebec Regions (CED) were highlighted on October 16th during a visit by Sophie Chatel, Member of Parliament for Pontiac–Kitigan Zibi, to Aidexpress.

Aidexpress is receiving $500,000 to integrate AI into its digital platform for coordinating home care and services. The project aims to match seniors and their caregivers more quickly with available service providers in their communities while expanding access to home care services across the country.

Meanwhile, Bloks is receiving $300,000 to support the international commercialization of its AI-powered customer relationship management software and develop additional features.

The investments are part of the Regional Artificial Intelligence Initiative, which aims to accelerate the adoption of AI by businesses and support the commercialization of Canadian innovations. The federal government recently announced an additional $500 million over five years, bringing the initiative’s total funding to $700 million nationwide.
