On the evening of September 30th, Tourisme Outaouais held its 45th annual general meeting at Maison O’Brien, where the organization presented its report for the 2025–2026 fiscal year.

Despite water damage at the Maison du Tourisme in September 2025, which forced the temporary relocation of the administrative offices and the Gatineau tourist information office, Tourisme Outaouais reports that it maintained its operations and strengthened its ties with industry stakeholders.

Among the highlights: in 2025, the number of overnight stays booked in the Outaouais region increased by nearly 6% compared to the previous year, according to data from the Ministry of Tourism.

Business tourism also had a strong year. Following the announcement of the expansion of the convention center at the Hôtel-Casino du Lac-Leamy complex—supported by a $50 million investment from Loto-Québec—Tourisme Outaouais received a $1.5 million mandate to intensify its outreach efforts to event organizers.

In just four months, seven events were confirmed, representing more than 3,000 overnight stays and regional economic spinoffs estimated at over $1.6 million.

The organization also notes that its funding programs, combined with those of the Ministry of Tourism, have made it possible to award more than $1.7 million to tourism businesses and organizations in the region.

Tourisme Outaouais also continued to develop its digital tools, notably with a new website and a new version of the #OutaouaisFun collection.

Finally, the organization announced the composition of its new board of directors. Lélia Bâcle-Mainguy remains president, while Claude Montreuil joins the board as a representative of the Vallée-de-la-Gatineau region.

The 2025–2026 year was thus marked by an increase in overnight stays, the growth of business tourism, and several investments aimed at enhancing the Outaouais’ appeal to tourists.
