The Pontiac MRC honored for its AgriSaveur project

The MRC of Pontiac won the 2026 Municipal Leadership Award from the Fédération québécoise des municipalités (FQM) for its AgriSaveur project. The award was presented at the FQM’s annual conference in Quebec City and highlights the project’s transformative, innovative, and unifying nature.

Launched in 2023 as part of the Pontiac MRC’s Signature Innovation project, AgriSaveur aims to strengthen regional food self-sufficiency, support agricultural entrepreneurship, and promote the processing and marketing of local products. In particular, the project provides producers and processors with essential infrastructure right in the Pontiac region, thereby contributing to economic development and the creation of added value in the area.

Beyond infrastructure, AgriSaveur relies on the collaboration of producers, entrepreneurs, organizations, and partners united by a common goal: to develop a strong, sustainable, and innovative agri-food sector in the region.

Jane Toller, Prefect of the Pontiac MRC, expressed her pride in this recognition, highlighting the collaborative efforts of municipalities, producers, businesses, and partners. She noted that the project helps strengthen the local economy and foster a more self-sufficient and sustainable future for the Pontiac.
