Proposed Merger of Desjardins Credit Unions: Vote Falls Short of the Required Threshold

Members of the Gracefield and Rivières de Pontiac credit unions voted on September 14th and 15th on a proposed merger between the two credit unions.

At the Caisse des Rivières de Pontiac, 64.46% of members voted in favor of the proposal, while 76.57% of members at the Caisse de Gracefield voted in favor of the merger.

However, the proposal needed to secure at least 66.6% of the votes to move forward.

Since the required threshold was not met in either credit union, the merger plan will not move forward based on the announced results.
