Provincial elections: check your registration on the electoral list

With the provincial elections approaching on October 5th, Elections Quebec reminds voters of the importance of verifying their voter registration.

According to data published in June, more than 400,000 eligible voters were not registered on the voters list. In particular, more than 100,000 voters were not registered at their current address.

Registration notices were recently mailed. Citizens should verify their name, address, and the information on them. Those who did not receive their notice can also verify their registration online with Elections Quebec.

If a person is not registered or needs to correct their address, they must act quickly. An online request must be submitted no later than 8 p.m. on September 21st. It is also possible to submit a written request or to visit the returning officer’s office in person.

In-person applications are accepted from September 14th to October 1st at 2 p.m., with certain conditions for those wishing to vote in advance.

Important: On election day, it will no longer be possible to register on the voters list or make changes to it.

Elections Québec therefore encourages voters to check their registration now to avoid any unpleasant surprises on election day.
