The municipality of Saint-André-Avellin aims to maximize the use of its outdoor facilities by organizing events. Last Saturday, August 22nd, the recreation department hosted a musical performance on the Sentiers des Oiseaux (Bird Trails). The municipality even ensured a bar service was available on site. The combination of culture and outdoor activities is becoming increasingly popular. One example is the municipality of L’Ange-Gardien, which uses the Champboisé Regional Park as a platform for showcasing its cultural offerings. “It resulted in some magnificent images, and the artists love this kind of experience, which is completely new and takes them out of their comfort zone. It also allows them to add something to their portfolio. The Sentiers des Oiseaux (Bird Trails), where the piano performance with the lighting took place, is a trail that is also accessible to seniors and people with disabilities, so it’s like offering a two-in-one. An accessible trail for everyone, an accessible culture, therefore a combination of accessibility for all visitors.”
Loisir sport Outaouais therefore encourages outdoor site managers to offer activities related to culture and cultural recreation. Nature provides a tranquility and atmosphere that allows for a memorable experience for spectators. Municipal recreation departments are thus invited to draw inspiration from the best practices implemented by their peers.
