Pontiac’s Claudee Galipeau raises over $11,000 for Défi Maroc 2026

Santé Outaouais Foundation has launched the Défi Maroc 2026, a fundraising initiative supporting the health-care sector in the Outaouais. The event will see 45 participants from across the region travel to Morocco at the end of October for a two-week humanitarian expedition, providing health and humanitarian assistance to communities in the country.

Representing the MRC de Pontiac, Claudee Galipeau told CHIP 101.9 she decided to take part in the challenge to support the recruitment and retention of health-care workers in the Pontiac.

Each participant in the expedition was given a fundraising goal of 10-thousand dollars. Currently having raised upwards of 11-thousand-500 dollars for the cause, Galipeau says reaching that target was made possible by the generosity of people across the Pontiac.

With the humanitarian expedition approaching, Galipeau will provide regular updates to CHIP 101.9, including reports from Morocco throughout the trip.

Although she has already surpassed her 10-thousand-dollar fundraising goal, Galipeau says her donation page will remain active until the expedition ends in early November.

People who wish to continue supporting the cause can donate through the link provided here.
