New Rescue Boat for the Mansfield-et-Pontefract Fire Department
New Rescue Boat for the Mansfield-et-Pontefract Fire Department
The Mansfield-et-Pontefract Fire Department now has a brand-new, state-of-the-art water rescue boat.
The new vessel will allow firefighters to respond more quickly and efficiently to emergencies on the river and other waterways in the area.
The boat is equipped with a thermal imaging camera capable of detecting a person more than one kilometre away, as well as sonar technology that allows crews to see the bottom of the river during search operations. Fire Department Chief Patrick Bertrand:
The project represents a significant investment for the Fire Department. However, the purchase of the boat was fully funded through fundraising efforts organized by firefighters, along with generous support from local businesses and residents.
The arrival of the new boat marks the completion of an important project aimed at improving safety in the community.
Firefighters will also receive specialized training to ensure they can make full use of the boat’s technology and equipment.
The Fire Department is also reminding residents who enjoy the river and other waterways in the area to remain cautious and follow water safety guidelines.
The new rescue boat is a major addition to the Mansfield-et-Pontefract Fire Department’s emergency response capabilities and will provide crews with better tools to respond to emergencies on the water.
