The Pontiac International Women’s Film Festival returns this weekend

5 August 2026 à 8:55 am

The Pontiac International Women’s Film Festival (FICFP) will hold its 3rd edition from August 7th to 9th at Cinéma Lyn in Fort-Coulonge.

This year, director Mélanie Charbonneau is the honorary president. The festival, unique in Quebec for being entirely dedicated to women filmmakers, offers a program highlighting fiction films, documentaries, animated films, and comedies from Quebec, Canada, and around the world.

The opening ceremony will take place on Friday at 5:30 p.m., followed by a screening of Mélanie Charbonneau’s film, Les Furies. Throughout the weekend, audiences can discover several feature films and short films, including Rue Málaga, Dans la forêt, Oraison, Sur la terre comme au ciel, and Bergers.

The festival will conclude on Sunday at 4:00 p.m. with the presentation of the Cocottes d’or awards. A free outdoor screening of the film Outstanding is also scheduled for 9 p.m. at the Mansfield White Bridge Beach. Viewers are invited to bring their own chairs.

Created in 2018 to revitalize the Pontiac cultural scene, the International Women’s Film Festival continues its mission to promote the talent of female directors and offer the public a diverse and accessible program.
