Job offer – General manager / Clerk-Treasurer at the municipality of Waltham

The Municipality of Waltham is seeking a dynamic, meticulous, and dedicated individual to fill the position of Director General/Clerk-Treasurer.

Reporting to the Municipal Council, the successful candidate will be responsible for the overall management of the municipality and the supervision of daily operations, in accordance with the Quebec Municipal Code and the guidelines established by the Council.

In this role, they will play a central part in the smooth operation of the municipal administration. They will support and advise the Municipal Council in its decision-making, coordinate administrative activities, and ensure the implementation of adopted priorities and resolutions.

Their main responsibilities will include:

• preparing agendas and documentation for Council meetings;
• the municipality’s financial administration and budget monitoring;
• coordinating municipal projects, contracts, and communications; and
• implementing Council decisions and ensuring compliance with applicable laws and regulations.

The ideal candidate will have experience in municipal administration, public administration, or management. She is distinguished by her organizational skills, her ability to manage multiple files simultaneously, and her excellent communication skills. Knowledge of the municipal environment is an asset, as is bilingualism (French and English).

Working conditions and compensation will be determined based on the qualifications and experience of the successful candidate.
