2026 Provincial Elections: Élections Québec launches its call for applications
With the provincial election scheduled for October 5, 2026 (with advance voting days set for September 27th and 28th), the organization is already seeking staff to ensure the smooth running of the voting process.
Working during an election is a unique opportunity to support Quebec democracy while supplementing your income.
Here’s what you need to know about the conditions and available positions:
- Paid training and work: All election staff are paid for all training and work hours completed (provided they work on election days).
- Open to those 16 and older: Young people aged 16 and 17 are fully eligible and encouraged to apply. An excellent opportunity for a first civic work experience!
- Right to leave for employees: Already employed? The Election Act stipulates that your employer must grant you unpaid leave if you request it to work on election day.
How to apply?
Interested individuals can submit their resume now using the “Apply online” form available on the Elections Québec website.
Please note: Official recruitment by the returning officers of each electoral district will begin at the start of the election period, in early September. Successful candidates will be contacted at that time.
