A friendly language exchange at the Mansfield Axe‑Throwing Centre

Residents of the region are invited to take part in a bilingual language‑exchange activity on Thursday, June 11th, 2026, in a relaxed and inclusive atmosphere at the axe‑throwing centre in Mansfield‑et‑Pontefract.
Organized with the goal of strengthening community ties, the “Échange Linguistique / Language Exchange” event offers participants the chance to practice French and English in an informal setting that encourages interaction between francophones and anglophones of all levels.
The activity will take place from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. at 257 Main Street and aims to build linguistic confidence while fostering connections among members of the local community.
According to the organizers, choosing an unconventional venue like an axe‑throwing centre helps make the experience more dynamic and accessible, breaking away from the traditional structure of formal language classes.
The event is open to all levels, from beginners to advanced speakers. Registration is done online via a QR code available on the promotional poster.
The initiative is supported by several community partners, including the Réseau BIBLIO de l’Outaouais, as well as regional organizations and cultural partners such as West Quebecers and Canadian Heritage.
Organizers encourage residents to take advantage of this opportunity to practice a new language, meet new people, and strengthen ties between the region’s francophone and anglophone communities.
