Summer job opportunity at the Maison des Jeunes in Rapides‑des‑Joachims: child support aide

Les Maisons des Jeunes du Pontiac are seeking a student to provide individualized support to a child living with a disability during the summer of 2026 in Rapides‑des‑Joachims. This is an essential role focused on assisting the child in daily life and during community activities.

Main Responsibilities

• Assist the child with meals, hygiene, dressing, and daily care
• Provide mobility support, including assistance with an electric wheelchair
• Ensure the child’s supervision and safety at all times
• Participate in recreational, educational, and social activities
• Promote a positive, encouraging, and caring environment

Required Skills and Qualifications

• Be between 15 and 30 years old
• Experience working with children, especially children with disabilities (asset)
• First Aid and CPR certification (asset)
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Patience, reliability, compassion, and autonomy

Employment Conditions

• Maximum duration: 111 hours
• Flexible schedule based on the needs of the child and family
• Approximately 14 to 16 hours per week over 7 to 8 weeks
• Start date: July 6th, 2026
• Salary: $18.00/hour
