Wildlife officers from Maniwaki and Mont-Laurier put an end to an individual’s poaching activities in the Messines area, following a thorough investigation conducted with the assistance of a dog handler.

The operation revealed several violations related to illegal hunting, including hunting white-tailed deer at night and during the closed season, illegal possession of white-tailed deer, as well as the illegal hunting and possession of wild turkeys during the closed season. Violations regarding firearm registration were also identified.

In total, the individual faces 11 charges, which could result in fines totaling up to $27,500. His hunting license could also be suspended for a period of 24 months.
