The worst roads in Quebec are in the Outaouais region

The list of Quebec’s worst roads is back, confirming a reality well known to drivers in the Outaouais region: the condition of the road network remains a cause for concern.

According to the “Worst Roads 2026” campaign, more than 6,700 votes were cast this year—more than double the turnout in 2025. Unfortunately, the Outaouais region stands out once again, with six roads in the provincial top 10, including Chemin Pink in Gatineau, which has earned the unenviable title of Quebec’s worst road for the second consecutive year.

The organizers emphasize that this ranking does not only concern the provincial network but also includes several municipal roads in poor condition across the province. Only one road under the jurisdiction of the Ministry of Transport appears in the main ranking, highlighting the scale of the overall maintenance challenge.

In Montreal, although no roads appear in the top 10, the data shows a marked increase in flat tire services, up 26% on the island compared to last year—an indirect sign of the deterioration of certain road surfaces.

In response to this situation, CAA-Québec and several partners have formed a coalition aimed at improving the condition of road infrastructure and raising awareness among decision-makers about the necessary investments.

The coming weeks are expected to feature meetings and public advocacy efforts to build pressure for future policy commitments regarding transportation and road maintenance.
