The PAR-COURT PLEIN(S) ÉCRAN(S) festival is making its debut stop in Fort-Coulonge

12 May 2026 à 12:22 pm

From May 19th to June 4th, the organization Plein(s) Écran(s) will launch the third edition of its Par-Court, a 3,700-kilometer tour across ten cities in Quebec aimed at introducing audiences to short films and fostering dialogue between the public and filmmakers.

The initiative will make its first-ever stop in the Outaouais region. Two free screenings will be offered to film lovers on Thursday, May 21st, at 7 p.m. at Cinéma 9 in Gatineau and on Friday, May 22nd, at 7 p.m. at Cinéma Lyn in Fort-Coulonge. These two evenings will feature the presence of director Marie-Pier Dupuis (L’été des chaleurs) and Gatineau-based filmmakers Thomas Hinse (Les enfants ont peur) and Cristi Parpalita (Cartouche).

The program will feature four main short films, including L’été des chaleurs, winner of the 2025 Grand Prix Plein(s) Écran(s), as well as works of fiction, animation, and documentaries.

Each stop on the Par-Court tour will also include the screening of a local short film. In Gatineau, Thomas Hinse’s Les enfants ont peur will be screened in the presence of the director, while in Fort-Coulonge, audiences will be able to see Cristi Parpalita’s Cartouche.

According to the organization, this tour aims to increase access to short films in regional areas and create opportunities for artists to connect directly with audiences. Audience members will also be invited to vote for their favorite film as part of an audience award that includes a cash prize.

Plein(s) Écran(s) notes that the event is made possible thanks to several institutional and cultural partners, including SODEC and the Canada Council for the Arts.

Plein(s) Écran(s) is a distribution organization whose mission is to introduce, promote, and make local short films accessible to the general public—in Quebec, in the regions, and internationally—in order to bring people together, educate, and entertain. By providing short-form content with an exceptional showcase, the organization aspires to become the leading authority in promoting and distributing Quebec short films at the heart of the Francophone world.

Ten screenings open to everyone will be offered to the public from May 19th to June 4th, followed by discussions with several guests who will also be joining us on the road!
