The Kitigan Zibi Pow Wow returns: culture, dance, and flavors await!

4 May 2026 à 1:23 pm

The traditional Kitigan Zibi Anishinabeg Pow Wow will return on May 30th and 31st, 2026, just outside Maniwaki.

Considered the largest traditional pow-wow in Quebec, the event will once again bring together participants and visitors from across North America to celebrate First Nations cultures.

The program includes traditional dances, drum singing, a grand entry of dancers, artisan crafts, and activities for the whole family. On the culinary side, visitors will be able to enjoy a variety of on-site specialties, including bannock, Indigenous tacos, grilled meats, traditional soups, and homemade desserts. Annie Léveillée from Tourisme Outaouais provides more details:

“It’s a two day celebration of the Anishinabeg culture where traditional dances, kiosks and ceremonies await, in a sharing and spiritual ambiance. Each dance tells a story that’s been passed down from generation to generation. It’s the first Pow Wow in Quebec and it paved the way for other Pow Wows in the province. Each year, about 5,000 people attend this event situated just outside Maniwaki.”

Open to everyone, the Kitigan Zibi Pow Wow is a unique opportunity to experience a rich, festive, and unifying cultural event in the heart of the region.

Visitors are encouraged to attend in large numbers.
