Fire at Bryson Lake Lodge

A fire that broke out at Bryson Lake Lodge destroyed cabins 9, 10, 11, and 12, causing significant material damage but no reported injuries.

According to information provided by the organization, the team accessed the site Friday morning via alternate routes due to a major road failure at kilometer 54, which made access difficult. Upon arrival, the fire was still smoldering. Team members quickly extinguished the remaining flames to prevent any spread.

The Société de protection des forêts contre le feu (SOPFEU) was contacted and responded by helicopter to ensure the fire would not spread to other buildings on site or into the surrounding forest.

Surveillance cameras suggest that the fire may have started in or near the electrical room. No vehicles or individuals were observed on site at the time. An investigation is underway to determine the exact cause of the fire.

The organization is asking affected clients to wait before contacting them directly. They will be informed of reservation options once more information is available regarding road conditions and next steps.

Access to Bryson Lake Lodge remains difficult due to the major road failure at kilometer 54, a situation that continues to pose a significant safety risk for road users.
