Short film night: the Par-Court project stops in Fort-Coulonge

28 April 2026 à 1:25 pm

The Lyn Cinema in Fort-Coulonge will host an evening dedicated to local cinema on May 22nd at 7 p.m., as the Par-Court Pleins Écrans project presents a selection of short films created by emerging talents.

For the occasion, the organization Phare Ouest invites the public to come discover these works, which highlight the creativity and dynamism of emerging artists from the region and beyond. From the organization Phare Ouest, Louis Harvey:

“Par-Court is a project created by Pleins Écrans, which specializes in short films. For the third year in a row, they are organizing a tour around the province to present the best short films. They approached Phare Ouest because they are interested in smaller, less known viewing rooms. At the Lyn Cinema, 5 short films will be presented on May 22nd, 2026, at 7 p.m. The filmmakers will also be present at this event to discuss with the viewers. Those interested are invited to reserve their tickets by scanning the QR code on the posters announcing the event.”

The Par-Court project is now in its third edition and continues to stand out by offering a unique platform for emerging filmmakers. Audiences will enjoy a diverse program featuring original short films ranging from fiction to documentary.

The event also aims to highlight the importance of culture in regional communities and to encourage connections between creators and the public.

Open to everyone, the evening promises a friendly and immersive experience. Admission is free, allowing as many people as possible to take part in this cultural initiative.

Additionally, Phare Ouest is preparing another screening in the near future. The short film Les enfants du large will be presented. Once again, Louis Harvey:

“In this short film, the main character goes on an adventure in search of her brother who was involved in a shipwreck. At this screening, the Association des Cinémas Parallèles du Québec’s coordinator will be present to speak about the Association. The movie will start at 8 p.m. and will be followed by a round table discussion. MRC Pontiac’s Marie Gionet will also be present to talk about a new cinema agency to help filmmakers in the region. This event will take place on May 14th at 8 p.m. at the George Bryson House.”

People interested can obtain more information about the organization’s activities and the May 22nd evening by consulting its official platforms.
