The “StationConte” are arriving in Pontiac.
The Outaouais Réseau BIBLIO is offering an innovative experience this year for young readers and listeners: “StationConte”, interactive listening stations where every choice transforms the story. Powered by support from the Government of Quebec as part of the Cultural Development Agreement of the MRC of Pontiac, these travelling stations will visit several libraries in the region, offering children a unique blend of traditional storytelling and modern technology.
StationConte allows children to become the true heroes of the story. Each decision made by the young listener influences the course of the narrative, creating an immersive and unique experience with every session. Participants discover the joy of reading and interactive listening while stimulating their imagination.
The schedule of participating libraries is as follows:
April 6th to June 6th, 2026: Otter Lake Library, 340 Martineau Avenue, Otter Lake.
May 1st to June 30th, 2026: Shawville-Clarendon Library and L’Isle-aux-Allumettes & Sheenboro Library.
July 1st to August 31st, 2026: Alleyn-et-Cawood Library, Danford Lake.
September 1st to October 31st, 2026: L’Île-du-Grand-Calumet Library.
September 16th to October 15th, 2026: Shawville-Clarendon Library.
November 1st to 30th, 2026: Otter Lake Library.
This project highlights the fusion of storytelling and technology, creating an educational and entertaining tool that stimulates children’s creativity and critical thinking. Libraries invite young people and their families to come experience StationConte in person and enjoy an adventure where they directly influence the fate of the characters and become active participants in their own story.
By combining imagination, technology, and storytelling, StationConte stands out as an original cultural experience that enriches library offerings and opens new possibilities for learning and the joy of reading.
