The Municipality of L’Isle-aux-Allumettes is inviting applications to fill a position for a Municipal Inspector, who will also serve as a By-law Enforcement Officer.
Reporting to the Director General, the successful candidate will play a key role in enforcing municipal by-laws and handling citizen requests. They will work in collaboration with a senior municipal inspector who provides part-time technical support. The municipality also notes that training and guidance will be offered to support professional development.
Summary of Responsibilities
The person in this role will be responsible for responding to citizen complaints and information requests, conducting field inspections, and ensuring compliance with municipal and provincial regulations, particularly in areas such as zoning and nuisances.
They will also participate in the review of permit and certificate applications, issue notices or statements of offence when required, and ensure administrative follow-up by maintaining records and preparing reports.
Qualification Requirements
Candidates must demonstrate interest or experience in fields such as municipal administration, urban planning, construction, or environmental services. Relevant training is considered an asset.
The position also requires strong computer skills, a well-developed sense of customer service, and the ability to work independently while managing multiple files. Bilingualism (spoken and written) and a valid driver’s licence are required.
