2026–2027 Fishing Season: New Rules in Effect Starting April 1st

20 March 2026 à 10:12 am

The 2026–2027 recreational fishing season will officially begin on April 1st across the province, with new regulatory measures coming into effect to better govern the practice.

The Government of Quebec is urging anglers to review the updated regulations before planning their activities. These rules will remain in effect until March 31st, 2027.

Among the available tools, an interactive map allows fishing enthusiasts to quickly check the restrictions specific to their area or a particular body of water. This platform is designed to make the regulations easier to understand for both beginner and experienced anglers.

The main changes, effective from the start of the season, concern certain quotas, fishing periods, and specific conditions depending on the region. Authorities strongly recommend reviewing these changes to avoid any violations.

With these adjustments, the government aims to ensure a safe and sustainable practice of recreational fishing while promoting the protection of aquatic resources.

The season is thus set to be well-regulated for the thousands of anglers preparing to resume their spring fishing activities.

Information on the new fishing season, running from April 1st, 2026, to March 31st, 2027, is now available online.
