CAA-Québec launches the 11th edition of its “Worst Roads” campaign

19 March 2026 à 11:18 am

CAA-Québec is using its campaign to highlight the importance of investing in the road network. For the 11th year, the organization is inviting residents to participate in its provincial campaign, “The Worst Roads,” as a way to amplify the voices of road users and draw decision-makers’ attention to the need to renovate and maintain our infrastructure.

The “Worst Roads” voting platform is open until April 13th, 2026, and allows residents to vote daily for the road they consider to be the most problematic. The votes collected will be forwarded to local municipalities and the Ministry of Transportation and Sustainable Mobility to track the planned improvements on the ten roads listed on the provincial ranking.

The authorities responsible for the roads listed in the 2025 rankings have released their maintenance plans and investment projections. Some projects are relatively modest, while others, such as Notch Road in Chelsea, will require nearly $3.5 million by 2029. CAA-Québec ensures transparency by making all information provided by municipalities and the Ministry of Transport over the years available on its “Worst Roads” page.

To maximize the impact of its campaign, CAA-Québec has joined forces with other associations, industry representatives, and experts within the Coalition for Better Roads in Québec. The goal is to highlight the chronic underfunding and poor structuring of road maintenance budgets, while proposing concrete solutions to decision-makers.
