The Pontiac Regional County Municipality (RCM) is located in the southwest of the province of Québec, along the majestic Ottawa River, which forms a natural border with Ontario. The region is known for the richness of its natural resources, its built heritage, and its cultural diversity.
Pontiac has a population of just over 14,000 residents, approximately 57% of whom are English-speaking. They are spread across 18 municipalities and one unorganized territory covering 9,000 km². The RCM holds official bilingual status.
Job Description
Reporting to the Director of Finance and Administration, the main and usual duties of the person in this position involve carrying out a variety of administrative tasks related to the application of regulations, directives, and administrative measures.
The role also includes preparing written documentation related to management and statistics arising from responsibilities assigned by the Société de l’assurance automobile du Québec (SAAQ), as well as performing reception duties and general secretarial work.
Main Responsibilities

Assist, through assigned tasks, with the implementation of regulations, directives, and administrative measures.

Welcome clients, answer their questions, direct them appropriately, and provide necessary information.

Process incoming mail and telephone calls, take messages, and communicate standard information.

Collect, record, and prepare various documents.

Serve clients at the vehicle registration office when assigned to work at the SAAQ office.

Ensure that work complies with legislative changes related to the position.

Perform any other related duties.
Requirements

Diploma of College Studies (DEC) in Administrative Techniques, a vocational diploma (DEP) in Secretarial Studies, or equivalent relevant work experience.

Minimum of two (2) years of relevant work experience.

Bilingualism (French and English).

Proficiency in software such as Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Internet, etc.).

Strong written and verbal communication skills.

Excellent knowledge of French and English grammar.

Attention to detail and strong organizational skills.

Customer-service oriented.

Permanent full-time unionized position (35 hours per week) with the possibility of a flexible schedule.

Salary ranging from $25.27/hour to $31.08/hour, depending on experience.

12 sick days and 15 statutory holidays per year.
