March Break Promises Plenty of Activity in Outaouais

27 February 2026 à 11:45 am

As March Break approaches, many families in the region are looking for ways to keep their children busy. The good news is that the Outaouais region offers a wide range of activities, both outdoors and indoors, to make the most of the school holidays.

Outdoor enthusiasts can hit the trails at Parc de la Gatineau, which features kilometres of cross-country ski paths, or enjoy a winter hike at Parc régional du Mont Morissette. For a more playful outing, tubing at Domaine de l’Ange-Gardien and wildlife observation at Parc Oméga remain family favourites.

If the weather is less cooperative, parents can turn to several indoor options. A visit to the Monnaie royale canadienne offers an opportunity to learn more about how coins are made, while museums across the National Capital Region present interactive exhibitions for all ages. Movie lovers can also enjoy a family outing at local cinemas.

Municipal libraries and various cultural centres are also offering special March Break programming, from arts and crafts workshops to science-themed activities.

Annie Léveillée of Tourisme Outaouais shares a few must-see suggestions for the upcoming school break:

Here in the Pontiac, Parc des Chutes Coulonge is even offering a nature-themed day camp during the break.

Whether it’s getting active outdoors, exploring the region’s heritage, or simply enjoying time together as a family, there’s no shortage of options to make March Break a truly memorable experience.
