Dandelion Challenge 2026: Protecting Pontiac’s Pollinators
Faced with the alarming decline of pollinators in North America, Nature-Action Québec is launching the Dandelion Challenge 2026. The goal: encourage municipalities, institutions, and businesses to delay lawn mowing until May to protect dandelions, a vital source of nectar for bees and other pollinating insects.
Laëtitia Hoareau, Associate Communications Officer for Engagement and Impact at Nature-Action Québec, explains:
This provincial initiative aims to strengthen local biodiversity and raise public awareness about the importance of eco-friendly maintenance practices. Participating organizations receive a turnkey kit to engage their communities and highlight their contribution.
