Gatineau Launches Its Winter Gathering in the Heart of Downtown

Gatineau is gearing up for a lively and festive winter! The City of Gatineau, in collaboration with Aire-Commune, has announced Place Laval Saison Froide, a brand-new winter event that will transform downtown into a hub of entertainment and social gatherings from December through April.

The inaugural weekend, on December 13 and 14, will kick off with a vibrant program including DJ sets, Christmas karaoke, a tree-throwing event, children’s performances, holiday craft workshops, and much more—offering something for the whole family! Marie-Pier Tessier from L’Étoile, director of Aire-Commune, provides further details:

On site, visitors will be able to enjoy a warm and inviting atmosphere, complete with fire pits, food trucks, and a winter bar—perfect for experiencing urban outdoor life even in cold weather. Best of all, all activities are free, as part of the downtown revitalization plan aimed at energizing and showcasing the heart of Gatineau year-round.

The Place Laval Saison Froide project is carried out in partnership with the City of Gatineau and Aire-Commune, made possible through their collaboration and funding support from the Ministry of Tourism, under the Winter Tourism Support Program, administered by Tourisme Outaouais.
