Appointment of Raymond Pilon as Deputy Warden: “A thoughtful, collaborative decision,” says former Deputy Warden Sandra Armstrong
Warden of the MRC Pontiac, Jane Toller—recently re-elected in the November 2 election—announced that she has chosen Campbell’s Bay Mayor Raymond Pilon as Deputy Warden. The decision came as a surprise to some, since Sandra Armstrong, who previously held the position, was re-elected by acclamation.
However, this should not be interpreted as a lack of confidence between the two elected officials. According to Sandra Armstrong, the decision was made in consultation with Jane Toller. She explained that her workload as Mayor of Mansfield-et-Pontefract, combined with personal commitments, led her to ask the Warden to appoint another mayor to the position.
Before Sandra Armstrong’s appointment in 2021, it is worth recalling that Otter Lake Mayor Kim Cartier-Villeneuve held the position.
