ESSC Students Launch Walk in Support of Bouffe Pontiac

École secondaire Sieur-de-Coulonge (ESSC) is bringing back one of its major challenges: a 24-hour, 100-kilometre walk carried out by a group of determined student participants. Known for its athletic challenges, such as cross-country skiing and other outdoor activities, this time the students want to support Bouffe Pontiac, an essential organization for families in the region.

The walk will begin this Friday, November 28, at noon. The students will complete a large loop, heading as far as Bristol, and will finish their journey on November 29 at noon at Bouffe Pontiac’s office in Campbell’s Bay.

Planned Route (Approximate Times)

  • Departure: ESSC – November 28 at 12:00 p.m.

  • Campbell’s Bay: 4:00 p.m. to 5:30 p.m.

  • Shawville (evening stop): 9:00 p.m. to 10:30 p.m.

  • Bristol: around 2:00 a.m.

  • Shawville (breakfast stop): 7:30 a.m. to 8:30 a.m.

  • Final Arrival – Bouffe Pontiac (Campbell’s Bay): November 29, around 12:00 p.m. to 12:30 p.m.

According to the organizers, this challenge aims to engage the entire Pontiac MRC. Each village and area of the region is invited to create a corridor of energy and solidarity to support the students:

  • Presence of local residents

  • Signs, bells, banners, and music

  • Participation from elected officials, business owners, firefighters, and organizations

  • Symbolic welcome (hot coffee, photos, words of encouragement)

  • Donations to Bouffe Pontiac
